Engine Wanted for Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre

We have received a message from Leon Pownsey   Director of the Fred Didnah Heritage Centre in Bolton  asking for help in locating a suitable engine to be placed on loan in Fred's workshop surrounded by his machinery.

Fred's former home has been opened to the public as a Heritage Centre. The machinery is currently being refurbished but Leon would like to add a steam roller or traction engine as a finishing touch to the displays. However, there are insufficient funds to purchase an engine so if anyone would be interested in loaning their engine to the Centre Leon would like to hear from you.

There would be a proper agreement drawn up legally to protect both parties. The engine would be secure as the house is  always occupied and the workshop in which the engine would be stored /displayed is in daily use with guided tours throughout the week, so the engine would be on permanent view.

There is the possibility of a television series and of course the engine would receive coverage.

If you are interested in placing your engine on loan at the Heritage Centre please contact Leon directly at:

The Fred Dibnah Heritage Centre, 121 RadcliffeRoad,  Bolton BL2 1NU
