The National Traction Engine Trust

There have been a large number of enquiries about the routes and distances to be covered on the Road Run. All entrants will be able to choose from three routes:

  • Short 10 - 15 miles suitable for steam rollers, slower traction engines, etc
  • Medium 25 - 30 miles suitable for faster traction engines, steam tractors, road locos and some steam wagons.
  • Long 40 - 50 miles suitable for faster road locos, steam waggons, etc

Entrants are not required to choose a route/distance in advance. Many engine drivers from various parts of the country have assured everyone that Bedfordshire is very flat but it is hoped that a few hills might be found. Check out Vinegar Hill, Hatch at https://maps.google.com/

The actual routes will not be announced until August 2014. Miniature engines will have their own dedicated route.
