The National Traction Engine Trust

At the recent AGM in Durham tropies and cups were awarded to a number of members.

Arthur Napper Cup. This year this was presented to Ian Thompson with Foden 13218 Cestria as he is the third generation of the Thompson family to have rallied this engine.

Curtis Bowl. This is presented to the owner who has taken an engine on a long or outstanding journey and this year’s recipient is Ian Fernley owner of Sentinel DG6 8803. 

Dacre Lacy Cup. This was awarded to Richard Preston for the outstanding renovation of Burrell 3526 Lightening II.

Choisy & Simson Cup. This is given to a member who has undertaken a difficult restoration and this year went to Tim Clarke with Burrell 1212 Whitehall.

John Crawley Trophy. John Graydon was the recipient of this award for services to our hobby. 

Edney Shield. This was accepted by Sue Cook on behalf of her late husband, John who gave considerable service to the Trust. 

Baker Toc-H Cup.  This year this was awarded to Neil Corner owner of Burrell 3909 Winston Churchill.

Jack Holloway Fruit Bowl. The winner this year is David Warren for rallying his portable across the North. 

Connie Hutchins Memorial Trophy. This was presented to Florence Grainger particularly for her work running the Masham Steam Fair. 

Eric Middleton Cup. This cup is presented to someone who has restored an engine with limited financial means and minimal equipment and was awarded to Nigel Crisp for his work with Aveling & Porter tractor 12115.
