The National Traction Engine Trust

Only two traction engines and a few portable engines built by Brown & May have survived.

The photograph is thought to show Brown & May No 6817 working on the Great West Road renewal programme at Brentford in the 1920's when in the ownership of Boughtons of Amersham. The engine had been fitted with extra wide rear wheels so it could be used  for consolidating in-fill.
