Training new entrants in the specialist skills of boiler repair and manufacture is essential if working steam is to continue and that is the mission of BESTT - The Boiler and Engineering Skills training Trust.  BESTT has just secured Heritage Lottery funding of £469.000 to enable 16 new trainees take up a 12 month placement at one of the UK's heritage boiler shops over the next two years. BESTT is looking to contract for the services of an experienced training manager to help organise the programme, support and help the trainees, and quality assure the programme. You need not be an expert boilersmith but experience of heritage engineering would be useful and above all you should enjoy working with and helping to motivate trainees.
