The National Traction Engine Trust

The Abbeydale Industrial Hamlet are holding a steam event on 4th and 5th October (10am to 5pm both days).

They would like to include a small number of traction engines. Can you help?

Engines can arrive at any time during the week prior to the event but please let the organisers know in advance before you turn up. They will provide coal for engines and  may be able to help pay expenses towards the costs of transporting engines to Abbeydale. They have a limited budget so please discuss this with the organisers before you agree to attend..

During the weekend there will also be demonstrations of traditional crafts and skills, such as charcoal making, smelting and forging, and this year Sheila Dibnah will be signing copies of her new book ‘A Cast Iron Will’ all about life with Fred.

If you would like to attend the event with your engine please contact Rachel Walker at  events@simt.co.uk or telephone 0114 272 2106
