At the recent Engine Owner's Meeting the Voluntary Certificate of Competence was discussed.

  • It was stressed the Certificate is voluntary and will continue to be voluntary.
  • The scheme has been running since 2005
  • In 2009 the Experience based option was introduced.
  • It was asked if anyone had failed the scheme and the answer was yes, there have been a small number of failures.
  • There has been a low take up of the scheme.

Finally, a unanimous decision of those present at the meeting voted in favour of retaining both schemes.
