The National Traction Engine Trust

The NTET were invited to attend the recent launch of the FBHVC Apprentice Scheme at Bicester Heritage Centre.

Present were SAC Chair Elaine Massey accompanied by past SAC Chairman Kevin Munn and  the Trust Chairman Robert Herring who took along his Burrell engine in support of the steam section of FBHVC.

In launching the new restoration apprentice scheme FBHVC Chairman David Whale introduced the three major sponsors, Bicester Heritage, MG Car Club and Mcgrath Maserati.

The day concluded with a conducted tour of the  Bicester Heritage Centre phase one, together with information of the sites former existence as a WW1 airfield and its sympathetic  restoration to its former condition and as a centre for preservation and restoration development.

 

Robert Herring's recently purchased Burrell 6 nhp single crank compound No 3763 named 'The Model'  which was supplied to Luke Curtis of Co Wexford in 1917 was present at the event although not in steam.
