The photograph was taken at the original Stourpaine Bushes site in Dorset and shows a Fowler single cylinder ploughing engine at work.


That year the sun shone on this late September scene. There was then a run of very wet rallies and the event became famous for 'mud'. The event was moved to late August and in the intervening years has grown to be the largest event of its type - in the world!
