The National Traction Engine Trust

Following on from the two statements over the past week from Martin Oliver, Managing Director of the Great Dorset Steam Fair, Stuart Gray Head of Commercial at the National Traction Engine Trust has submitted this statement on behalf of the Trust:

"The announcement from the Directors of GDSF that the event is to be bought forward to cover the bank holiday weekend I feel is a very positive one for the Trust. We aim through our presence at GDSF to maximise our exposure to the public at large and we see our role not just as an opportunity to engage with our members but to educate our public about the whole history and topic of steam in agriculture, haulage and in helping to build our countries infrastructure. We see a growing interest from young people, so the opportunity to see a larger audience; particularly those who would be otherwise back at school as very positive."
