The National Traction Engine Trust

Diamond Jubilee Road Run

Next year is the 60th anniversary of the NTET and a road run is being planned to celebrate this great milestone.

The event is being organised jointly by the National Traction Engine Trust and the Bedford Steam Engine Preservation Society. The road run will take place on Saturday 20th September 2014 and will be based at Old Warden Park near Biggleswade. This is the biggest road run ever planned! There will be three separate routes of varying lengths to suit all types of road steam vehicles.

It is hoped to have a good cross section of all types of road steam vehicles (including miniatures - minimum 4 inch scale) from all [parts of the country.

Later this year entry forms will be made available to members.. Entries may only be submitted by NTET members who have consistently been a member for 18 months before the event (ie must have been a member since March 2013). The closing date for entries will be 31st December 2013 and notifications will be sent out to successful applicants before April 2014.

Planning is still in the preliminary stages and further information will posted here or published in 'Steaming'.
