The National Traction Engine Trust

The unusual licence plate was used by the Isle of Ely County Council before the use of the familiar number plate with letters and digits was introduced in 1921 for all vehicles on the road.

Inside the plate is a piece of paper with:

Licence No. 106

Granted 13th Jan 1911

Expires 12th Jan 1912

Can anyone provide further information? It would be interesting to know what type of vehicle it was attached to, although it may not be a traction engine.
