The National Traction Engine Trust

Following our recent news story regarding the potential demise of Steam Fair FM at the Great Dorset Steam Fair and the public outcry that followed, the National Traction Engine Trust contacted all interested parties with a view to offering our assistance.

As a result we are delighted to announce that for 2015 the NTET are official partners with the Great Dorset Steam Fair and Steam Fair FM will once again be brought to you by Event Radio Associates.

Whilst this is an unusual move for the National Traction Engine Trust it is felt that it provides an ideal opportunity to reach a ready made audience and provide yet another valued service to the preservation movement and will ultimately raise the profile of the Trust to visitors at Dorset who may not all be familiar with our work and aims.

The official announcement was made by Martin Oliver on the Great Dorset Steam Fair Facebook Page yesterday and reads:

"Following further discussions with Patrick Heeley of Event Radio Associates I am pleased to report that it has been possible to reinstate Steam Fair FM for the 2015 show.

I would like to thank the National Traction Engine Trust who have, along with Great Dorset Steam Fair Ltd, agreed to meet the extra costs, each funding 50% of the shortfall. Both Patrick and me are over the moon that the NTET have come on board as an official partner.

All parties are delighted that the radio station will once again be broadcasting at the GDSF and I am sure this will please everyone who enjoys listening to Steam Fair FM each year.

We look forward to hearing the first broadcast on Saturday 29th August in readiness for the 2015 show!

As expected the response was phenominal and we very much look forward to working with Great Dorset Steam Fair and Event Radio Associates in the coming weeks and months. It goes without saying that as things develope we will keep everyone posted.

Stay tuned......
